Tecnica Spa, the parent company of one of the world’s foremost winter sports goods manufacturing groups, started out in Montebelluna in 1960 making work boots. It enjoyed its first great worldwide success in 1970 with the Moon Boot that became a word used all over the world for denoting after-ski footwear.
In the seventies Tecnica launched the first bi-injected plastic ski boot, the Tecnus: a true revolution for the sector, which would be followed by the successful Tnt range. A strategy of diversification was subsequently developed and resulted in the company attaining a leading position on all major markets through branches and distributors coordinated with the parent company in Giavera del Montello (Treviso, Italy). The turnover today is around 110 million euro divided by product line as follows: 48% ski boots, 13% outdoor footwear, 7% moon boots, 13% footwear in general, 1% other, while the distributed brands total 18%. The turnover per country is: 47% Europe, 29% Italy, 15% North America, 2% Japan and 7% others.
